Demister Separator

Demister separators are generally classified according to the type of material used to construct them, as well as their intended application. Common materials used for demister separators include polymers such as polypropylene and ABS, stainless steel, and other metals such as brass, copper, and aluminum. These materials offer different levels of chemical resistance, physical strength, and durability, making them suitable for a variety of applications.

Demister separators are primarily used in applications that involve gas-liquid separation, such as processing of chemicals and food products. They can also be used for liquid-solid separation, coalescing and gas-vapor separation. Mesh sizes are generally determined by the application, but typically range from 2 to 60 microns.

Materials of construction vary depending on process conditions, however, all wetted surfaces must be constructed from corrosion-resistant materials. Typical materials include polypropylene, PVC, polycarbonate, stainless steel, Hastelloy and tantalum. Materials may also be coated with a corrosion-resistant resin or other material to further enhance chemical compatibility.

Applications: Demister separators can be used in a variety of applications such as petrochemical and pharmaceutical processing, petrochemical refining, power generation, water treatment, oil and gas production, food processing, and many other industrial processes. Their ability to separate liquid droplets from a gas stream makes them an ideal choice for these operations.

Installation and Maintenance: Installing a demister separator is relatively straightforward, but there are a few things to consider before installation. First, ensure that the unit is properly sized for the application. A properly sized unit will ensure optimal efficiency and prevent unnecessary clogging. Additionally, be sure to check local regulations and codes prior to installation.

Maintenance requirements of demister separators depend largely on the operating environment. Generally, it is recommended to check the unit periodically for signs of clogging or damage. Additionally, inspect the frame and fasteners for any wear or other damage. Regular maintenance can help extend the life of the unit and maintain its performance.

DEMISTER Materials:

It can be made of various materials, depending on its use, and its major materials are as per the below:
